Acer Aspire 5551G-4591 - Notebook Review

Acer laptop from wholesaleeshop.com.au
I love small laptops as much as the next guy. The reality of laptops, however, is that most people don’t end up buying cool, slim systems. Instead they buy larger laptops with 15.6” displays. Although large and somewhat clunky, these laptops offer a lot of power at a low price. They’re portable enough to tote around a house or apartment, as well – which is the most many users will ever ask their laptop to do.
The Acer Aspire 5551G-4591 doesn’t pack any surprises. It is the definition of a mainstream 15.6” laptop, which means that it will probably appeal to many readers. However, the laptop steps into a market that contains fierce competition. Does the Acer Aspire 5551G-4591 find a way to stand out from the crowd? Well, have a look for yourself.
If you read a lot of laptop reviews you may find these specifications to be familiar. That’s because they’re similar to the specifications of a number of Acer models both past and present, including both 15.6” laptops and some 17.3” models.
This familiarity isn’t a bad thing, however. Acer has consistently offered laptops with Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics at very low prices, making budget laptop gaming a possibility. The Intel powered AS5740G-6979, for example, was one of the best inexpensive gaming laptops available earlier this year (it now appears to be discontinued).Acer laptop by wholesaleeshop.com.au
So, the Acer Aspire AS5551G-4591 we’re looking at today isn’t exactly a brand new design. The main difference between this and the earlier AS5740G is the processor, which is an AMD Turion II instead of Intel’s Core i3. Let’s take a look at what this change means for performance – and how Acer’s overall design competes with other laptops currently available.

Guide Helps One Laptop Per Child Heighten Battery Life

Guide Helps One Laptop Per Child Heighten Battery Life
- http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
XO v1.75 from wholesaleeshop.com.auThe One Laptop Per Child's (OLPC) $100 notebook goal is nearing fruition  as its newest XO convertible tablet version 1.75 will cost $165 compared  to the original $199 XO. The decrease in price is thanks mainly to the  Marvell ARM processor inside.
Developing worlds and electronics have a tough time getting along due to  lack of power outlets, and while OLPC provides a manual crank to  recharge its XO laptops, the task takes hours to fully charge the battery. Version 1.75 switches from an x86 to ARM architecture - specifically a 1GHz Marvell Armada 610 - and that cut power consumption in half, so the XO draws 2 watts of power rather than 4 watts.
The XO 1.75's 8.9-inch screen will also be touch-capable; the screen swings around to convert into a tablet. wholesaleeshop.com.au has speculated that since the base is left with room for a keyboard and battery, this might mean the updated laptop will ship with a larger laptop battery. OLPC's chief technology officer, Edward McNierey, also talked to Gearlog at CES about XO devices running future versions of Windows.
While OLPC has yet to hit its $100 price point, the company moves $34 closer to its goal. The XO-1.75 tablet is set to ship in Q2 of this year.

Guide to Make Your Notebook Breathe

Guide to Make Your Notebook Breathe - http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
Most people spend so much time looking at their screens that they very rarely look at the laptopitself. Take a careful look at it now and see if you can identify two things:
 1. The cooling fan exhaust port.
 2. The air intake grills.
These are usually just a set of slots  in the casing that will let air into  the machine. They are not so obvious  and are
sometime located on the side, but  most likely these days they will be  on the bottom.
Neither part is very exciting to look at, but they are among the most essential parts of your machine. If they are blocked up the machine will shut down very quickly shortly afterwards. Most of the time, this is where the problem lies.
The components inside your laptop generate a lot of heat as they work. Your laptop’s cooling system removes this heat by sucking cool air through the input grills and passing it around all the hot components inside. The resulting hot air is then blown out of the exhaust port. The cooling system does this continuously all the time your machine operates and, as long as nothing happens to interrupt the flow of air, nothing more is needed to keep the machine cool
The trouble is that, shortly after they discover that alaptop runs too hot to use on directly on their lap, many people simply move the machine to a cushion, to the couch, or to the carpet.
As soon as they do that, guess what? They start to block up the cooling system air intakes and a little while after that their machine starts to overheat.
Of course, as soon as you realise what is going on, the solution is obvious too. Simply move the machine to a flat, hard surface that will allow the cooling air to circulate. Works like magic in most cases.

How to Turn an iPhone Into a Wireless iPad Camera

How to Turn an iPhone Into a Wireless iPad Camera
- http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
The iPad doesn't have a built-in camera, but you can give it something better. By putting an app onto each an iPad and an iPhone, you can connect the two via bluetooth and have a wireless camera for your iPad.Welcome to wholesaleeshop.com.auWholesaleeShop.com.au wholesale high quality Touch Screen LCD MonitorsLaptop ComputersLaptop BatteriesLCD MonitorsUSB MonitorsON-Camera Field HD MonitorsCool Accessories for eBay sellers, distributors, store owners, retailers, drop shippers and small wholesalers at competitive prices.
All you need to do is download the Camera A and Camera B apps onto your iPad and iPhone respectively—note that Camera A will set you back a buck while Camera B is free. Once you've got the apps on your devices, make sure bluetooth is switched on, and open the apps. Ta da! You'll see everything your iPhone's lens sees on your iPad.
To take a picture you'll tap the camera icon at the bottom of your iPad's screen. A pop up prompt will ask you if you really want to save the photo and that's it, you're done. Oh, and if you want photos to save to both your iPhone and your iPad each time,
then you can flip the little toggle switch in the lower right of the screen:

How does this witchcraft work? Based on the fact that I just saw my iPhone lock screen twice moments ago, I'd say that the apps are allowing your iPad to mirror your iPhone's display. I guess that means that you could also use this app setup to truly turn your iPad into a gigantic iPhone.

Notebooks Maybe replaced by Tablets

Notebooks Maybe replaced by Tablets  in 2011
- http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
We have been talking about the impact of tablets on the laptop market with netbooks taking the biggest impact. Since netbooks have a physical keyboard, one might argue that tablets, by not having one, would be less valuable to business people. While tablets do have bluetooth connectivity, you could use a bluetooth keyboard to improve your entry speed. The trends are continuing for existing laptop users to be taking a serious look at tablets to determine if they are a replacement for their existing notebook. Two reports have come out this week which seem to support the trends that we are talking about.

ipad - wholesaleeshop.com.au
ipad - wholesaleeshop.com.au

A new ChangeWave report, as reported by Apple Insider, shows that corporations  are moving towards increasing tablet  devices, which would result in a decrease in  notebooks purchases. ChangeWave has great  resources for finding out what things are  looking like for businesses in the coming  months. In their latest report, they are  reporting that iPad satisfaction in businesses  is very strong.
  • iPad – 69% very satisfied
  • HP Tablet – 23% very satisfied
  • Dell – 12% very satisfied
  • Apple iPad – 78%
  • Dell – 9%
  • RIM/Blackberry – 9%
  • HP – 8%
  • Samsung – 4%
With those kinds of numbers, the iPad should have a great year in 2011 for business purchases. With the iPad having a proven track record, business are showing 7% tablet usage currently and for the 1st quarter of 2011 they are projecting 14% tablet usage in the businesses. That is a great jump and indicates that notebooks will be having a reducing role. Projections for which device they will be looking at purchasing tablets in the 1st quarter from the ChangeWave report are:

Acer 4551G(N832G32Mn) Laptop - wholesaleeshop.com.au
Acer 4551G(N832G32Mn) Laptop - wholesaleeshop.com.au

The numbers overwhelmingly favor Apple’s iPad and with the iPad 2 expected to be out in April, 2011, they will easily continue that trend in the 2nd quarter of 2011. Obviously, businesses are not taking a serious look at the competition in near term tablet purchases. The fact remains that they are planning on doubling the number of tablets in the organization.
In another report from All Things Digital, an analyst at Goldman Sachs, Bill Shope, is reporting that tablets will “cannibalize” notebook sales in 2011 and 2012. If tablets did not take notebook sales, the estimate is growth of 11.4% for 2011 and 9.5% in 2012. Tablets will replace notebook sales at a rate of 35% in 2011 and 33% in 2012. Those are staggering numbers and spell big problems for manufacturers who do not have current plans to release a tablet in the 1st quarter of 2011.

Toddy Gear founder and CEO Todd Gabel says he created The Toddy cloth as a fashion-smart yet functional accessory for Apple’s iPad and the growing legion of touchscreen devices from Samsung and others. “It looks very elegant, almost like having a nice pen,” he says.
For now, there are eight designs in two sizes — 5 by 7 inches for $14.95, or 9 by 9 inches for $16.95. There is promotional pricing if you order more than one. And the company is offering free standard shipping for the holidays.
Gabel is a serial entrepreneur who started Toddy Gear in May. The product just launched about a month ago. You can order from the company’s web site, or via Amazon. And they are available in some Verizon Wireless franchise stores, Gabel says.
“Next year is when we will really start the push into retail,” he says. The company will have a booth at January’s big ConsumerElectronics Show, where “we will really start to talk about the new versions of the Toddys” including an expansion of the line aimed at “tween” girls.
