Top Cool Hacks For Your NookColor by www.wholesaleeshop.com.au

So, you bought a NookColor. It's a cool device, but if you've had one for a while and find that the novelty is slowly wearing off, you might be wondering what else Barnes & Noble's touchscreen e-reader can do. Wonder no more: Hackers have been hard at work, pushing the NookColor to its limits. Here are a few great things that the NookColor is capable of.
The usual disclaimer: Hack at your own risk. We have not tested any of the hacks covered in this post. Hacking your hardware can unlock cool new features, but it can also render your gadget unusable if you're not careful/don't know what you're doing, or have other unintended consequences. Don't say we didn't warn you.
Honeycomb
Before Android's newest OS for tablets was even officially introduced by Google, a developer managed to get Honeycomb running on a Nook Color. Generally, it runs pretty smoothly (the graphics in particular), but a few features still need a little bit of work, like the accelerometer and sound. Still, it's a a pretty cool hack to show off to your Android-loving friends. Check out the video of it in action:
Longer Battery Life
As a NookColor owner knows, the battery could be a little better. The processor in the second Nook runs at 800MHz, but a little bit have tinkering has allowed a hacker to boost this to 950MHz. Not only does this hack improve the Nook's processor speed, it actually lowers the Nook's power use, resulting in improved battery life. Plus, it apparently removed the flickering bug that some users have complained of. Get the files you need to get more reading time from the XDA forum thread.
Better Storage
You can also get more storage on your NookColor: A hacker's app allows you to mount your PC's hard drive on the device, as well as other storage devices. The NookColor has two mount points, so you can mount two partitions. Want to give it a go? Get the APK file.
Ubuntu
If Android doesn't do it for you, how about Ubuntu Linux? Inspired by similar Ubuntu-on-a-smartphone hacks, an XDA Developers member managed to install Ubuntu on the e-reader. There are still a few bugs and lag when using Ubuntu, but there is plenty of input into the hack's coding currently to change that. The full instructions are available on the forum thread.
Dual-Boot Your E-Reader (Wha??)
Can't decide between an untouched Nook system and a hack one? Dual-boot it! One developer managed to get the his Nook Color running both Froyo or Honeycomb and the normal system. Turn the Nook on for Froyo/Honeycomb, power on and hold the Home button for the normal Nook or turn on and use the volume buttons for Recovery. The choice is yours. Learn more on the developer's mod thread.
Boot Animation
Most animations when a device is booting suck, especially when you have to watch it every timeyou turn it on. But you can change the Nook Color's boot animation to whatever you want, with--you guessed it--the help of a small hack. By downloading a couple of files, followed by renaming and copying, you can remove the red eye animation (named Droid1) and replace it with your own. Hooray!

PSP2 will have 3G cellular data, OLED touchscreen

http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au/Touch-Screen-LCD-Monitor/
We're only four days away from a supposed  January 27th unveiling, but apparently there are  still more juicy PSP2 rumors left to dole out --  Japan's often-reliable Nikkei newspaper reports  that the handheld machine will sport a crisp  OLED touchscreen and 3G data from NTT  DoCoMo when it arrives later this year, with the  latter enabling multiplayer action and even full  video and game downloads over the Japanese  cellular network. What's more, the paper confirms that the screen will be physically larger and powered by some potent new silicon. So, how will Sony differentiate this PSP2 from the PlayStation Phone and tempt you to buy both? The game system won't make calls.
Note: In case you're not familiar, the image above is a relatively ancient reader mockup, and likely not representative of the final product. It is pretty sexy, though.Welcome to wholesaleeshop.com.au

Store a Dell Xps M1330 Battery Properly to Save It from an Early Death

In the last two parts of this series, I covered the factors of temperature and charging. While the high temperatures inside modern laptops are probably the worst enemy of a  Dell xps m1330 battery, frequent discharge/charge cycles will negatively influence a battery’s life.
http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au/laptop/
If your laptop is a desktop replacement, then you probably only need the battery every now and then. It can be quite frustrating if you want to use your laptop for the first time after a year without AC,
only to realize that your batteries are already dead even though you never really used them. However, if you remove the Dell xps m1530 battery from the laptop and store it accurately, there is a good chance that it will be in good condition when you need it next time.
1.Don’t store a battery that is almost empty. StoredDell xps m1330 batteries continue losing energy, albeit at a much slower pace. If the stored battery is totally discharged, it could be destroyed.
2.Don’t store a fully charged battery. Fully charged batteries deteriorate faster than half-charged batteries. Most articles I’ve read recommended storing laptop batteries with a 40–60% charge.
3.Store the battery at a low temperature. I usually put it in the fridge. It keeps my battery fresh and crisp. Check out this table at Wikipedia. 0°C (32°F) seems to be the best storage temperature. I wouldn’t put the battery in the freezer even though Li-ion Hp 2230s battery only freeze at approximately −40°C.

4.Store the battery in a dry place. A moist environment will accelerate discharging the Hp 484170-001 battery.
5.Check the Dell xps m1330 battery state every now and then. I would remove it from the fridge at least every 30 days to calibrate it (fully discharge and charge).
6.Let the battery warm up a little before you put it back into your laptop. If the temperature is raised too fast, it will strain the Hp 530 battery
7.When I started this article, I thought I’d just share a few tips I’ve found on the web. But then I realized that there are quite a few things that can be done wrong with laptop batteries. That’s how I ended up with three articles.

It is quite amazing that we can build space ships that have enough energy to fly to the moon but still have no decent portable energy sources for simple laptops. Perhaps fuel cells will change the picture in a few years.

Guide Helps One Laptop Per Child Heighten Battery Life

Guide Helps One Laptop Per Child Heighten Battery Life
- http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
XO v1.75 from wholesaleeshop.com.auThe One Laptop Per Child's (OLPC) $100 notebook goal is nearing fruition  as its newest XO convertible tablet version 1.75 will cost $165 compared  to the original $199 XO. The decrease in price is thanks mainly to the  Marvell ARM processor inside.
Developing worlds and electronics have a tough time getting along due to  lack of power outlets, and while OLPC provides a manual crank to  recharge its XO laptops, the task takes hours to fully charge the battery. Version 1.75 switches from an x86 to ARM architecture - specifically a 1GHz Marvell Armada 610 - and that cut power consumption in half, so the XO draws 2 watts of power rather than 4 watts.
The XO 1.75's 8.9-inch screen will also be touch-capable; the screen swings around to convert into a tablet. wholesaleeshop.com.au has speculated that since the base is left with room for a keyboard and battery, this might mean the updated laptop will ship with a larger laptop battery. OLPC's chief technology officer, Edward McNierey, also talked to Gearlog at CES about XO devices running future versions of Windows.
While OLPC has yet to hit its $100 price point, the company moves $34 closer to its goal. The XO-1.75 tablet is set to ship in Q2 of this year.

Hands-on with Synaptics’ ClickPad Series 3.0 for the future Of Touch pad

Hands-on with Synaptics’ ClickPad Series 3.0 for the future Of Touch pad
- http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
Building a better clickpad 300x225 Hands on with Synaptics ClickPad Series 3.0 for the future Of Touch pad
Building a better clickpad
When you get right down to it, laptops only consist of a few key parts as far as user interface is concerned. Keyboard, screen, speakers–and, of course, the touch pad. With multitouch tablets and smartphones changing the interface landscape drastically, it’s quickly becoming a multitouch world, and computers are the devices playing catch-up. Synaptics, makers of most multitouch touch pads used today, have a next-generation clickpad in development that hopes to close the gap quickly. Called the Series 3.0 Clickpad, it’s a wider, button-free click surface that’s the successor to clickpads seen in some current Windows laptops.
When it’s all boiled down, the ClickPad Series 3.0 offers several significant improvements:
  • More accurate finger recognition. The 3.0 Clickpad has 10-finger independent recognition on its capacitive surface, something more akin to what devices like the iPad have. Synaptics’ image-sensing technology on the touch pad also is far more accurate at locating the shape of the finger being used, and whether it’s a flat surface or something resembling a palm. This allows an override of the touch technology when a palm is accidentally placed on the surface when typing.
  • Multifinger gestures. Apple’s clickpad has had this for years, but the new Clickpad allows up to four-finger gestures and a wide variety of gestures to clear the desktop, browse back and forth between Web pages, and more accurately pinch-to-zoom and rotate. Four-finger swiping brings up a clever “deck” of open windows, which can be easily navigated between.
Top clicking Hands on with Synaptics ClickPad Series 3.0 for the future Of Touch pad
Top-clicking
  • Clicking anywhere. Current clickpads work like a giant lever, angling downwards from a hinge on the back. Apple’s clickpads don’t click well at the back end, and neither do equivalent Windows clickpads. Synaptics’ next-gen model is a large surface that can click down at any part of the pad. Sometimes the concept model felt a little loose, but in future pads it’ll be nice to engage in some top-clicking.
  • Scrybe. Synaptics is working on a gesture-based vocabulary for other clickpad-initiated controls. Some may involve drawing a question mark to begin a search, for instance. We welcome more features, but a gesture vocabulary will need cross-application support and could get confusing to master. We’re reminded of Graffiti for the Palm Pilot; hopefully, it won’t be as confusing.
