Apple's launch of the Wi-Fi iPad 2 in China

The iPad 2 went on sale at Apple Stores in China at 8 a.m. Friday. The touchscreen tablet also launched on the China Apple Online Store, which was taken down early Friday and returned with an iPad 2 shipping estimate of one to two weeks.

At the Cupertino, Calif., company's flagship store in Beijing, the line still numbered in the hundreds by 10 a.m. local time. Apple retail staff carefully managed the line, allowing just a handful of customers in at a time. Dozens of scalpers congregated outside the retail store, offering to sell the device, which starts at 3688 yuan ($568), for a markup of just 200 yuan ($30).
The launch drew noticeably more customers than last year's launch of the original iPad. However, weather may have played a part, as last year's launch compaq dv2000 battery,Compaq nc6000 battery was rained out.
This year, Apple retail staff put in place more organized rules for customers choosing to wait overnight and provided a waiting room and numbered wristbands. The first customers reportedly began arriving at 5 p.m. the day before.
"If you leave the queue, an Apple staff member will take your wristband. If you return within one hour, it will be given back to you. If you return more than one hour later, you will be given a new wristband for a different place in line," one sign detailing the new rules read.
An informal exit survey of customers appeared to indicate that the white iPad 2 was more popular than the black model. Also, remaining inventory stored behind the Apple Store cash register was skewed heavily toward the black model, though the proportion of black to white iPads Apple that started the day with remains unclear.
White versions of Apple's products have proved popular in China in the past. Analyst Brian White with Ticonderoga Securities said last month that China was "a prime candidate for a 'white' iPhone 4." The white iPhone 4 quickly sold out in mainland China when it was released there late last month.
Apple has made an effort to shorten the gap between the U.S. and China releases Cheap Dell inspiron 1520 battery,Dell inspiron 1525 battery of its major products. The first-generation iPad took four months to officially arrive in China, while the iPhone 4 saw a two month delay and the iPad 2 launched less than two months after the U.S. release.

China's thriving grey market may have motivated Apple to shorten the gap between products. Last year, rampant scalping outside of Apple's stores in China resulted in a scuffle between customers and grey market resellers.
During its quarterly earnings call last month, the company indicated that its China strategy would serve as a model for similar emerging markets. Apple has been "on a tear" in China, with overall sales reaching just under $5 billion, roughly 10 percent of total revenues, in the first half of fiscal 2011.

Can RIM's PlayBook overtake the iPad 2 and Android 3.0?

Exasperated that despite its successes, RIM and BlackBerry are still having to prove that it is relevant and has potential in today’s environment.
Lazaridis speaks of a “negative sentiment” towards RIM, asking multiple questions:
“Why is it that people don’t appreciate our profits? Why is it that people don’t appreciate our growth? Why is it that people don’t appreciate the fact that we spent the last four years going global?"
But wait, there's more: "Why is it that people don’t appreciate Acer as07a31 batteries that we have 500 carriers in 170 countries with products in almost 30 languages?”
That sounds like a man feeling underappreciated doesn’t it? RIM is successful, no one's saying it isn't Mike, so chill.
BlackBerry smartphones have been consistently near the top of phone sales, particularly the likes of the BlackBerry Curve, for example.
On the surface, it would appear that BlackBerry has managed to at least partially shift the “business-specific” tag that it has had for many years.
Many of its users are a lot younger these days, for instance, with features like BlackBerry Messenger appealing to the social media Asus a42-v6 battery generation.
RIM is poised to build on this growing consumer-love as well, the PlayBook will be squarely aimed at both comsumers and city-types evenly.
Don't believe us? Check RIM's website. You'll see iImages of the PlayBook showing of its games and media functionalities – not the first thing that a business user would be looking for.
So what is the problem?
The issue that many people have with BlackBerry is that it appears to be losing ground with the other major players.
Apple has revolutionised the way people use mobile phones – and Android has grown to become the biggest mobile operating system. Between these two big dogs, there ain't much left.
BlackBerry, as well as Nokia, is in a state of flux. Both have kept to what they know without pushing many boundaries. All the while, companies that are willing to change, such as Samsung and LG, are showing signs of heading out in front.
It isn’t necessarily a case of BlackBerry being unsuccessful, it is more the case that while other platforms are growing, RIM and BlackBerry is dropping.
Basically, a big overhaul in the way RIM makes phones and operating systems is what's needed – i.e. some fresh thinking.
QNX is the way forward
This is where RIM's ace-in-the-sleeve comes into play: the new QNX operating system.
RIM acquired QNX and has quickly turned around a tablet-specific operating system. One that will debut on its PlayBook – due out soon.
Hp pavilion dv4 Battery from wholesaleeshop.com.auHp pavilion dv4 Battery

Previously, QNX operating systems could be found in car stereo Apple a1185 batteries systems, nuclear reactors and tanks. Now it's in RIM devices. This is good – this is new.
And this is doubley important as it is the operating system that is fast becoming on of the biggest factors for consumers when they're making a decision about what device to get next.
Nowadays in mobile entertainment, Apple and Android are leading the way. Their success is based on the experience and “ecosystem” as Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop would say.
This means more than just the hardware that the phone or tablet has, but the apps, services and UI as well. This is where QNX comes in.
It has been confirmed by RIM that BlackBerry phones will see the QNX operating system in the near future. The BlackBerry OS at the moment has been around for years. It is fairly outdated, and does not have the range of apps that Apple and Android do.
The reason why BlackBerry lags behind the “big two” in terms of apps is down to developing possibilities. Apps for BlackBerry are more expensive and complex to develop.
The New York Times provides an example of this problem.
Jason Schwartz, the developer of a bar and restaurant app called Matchbook, undertook some market research when building his app. He discovered from that research that his app was most suitable for female BlackBerry users.
Yet, the app is not available from BlackBerry App World, only from Apple’s App Store.
The reason? Mr. Schwartz told the New York Times, “The experience with Apple is very easy. With R.I.M., I wouldn’t even know where to begin”.

iPad 2 New HD Mirroring Killer Apps

iPad 2 New HD Mirroring Killer Apps by www.wholesaleeshop.com.au

Air Video

There are other options for streaming your computer’s video library to the iPad, but Air Video consistently receives updates to improve its quality and squash bugs, and it works both in your home network and away with relatively little setup. It also supports AirPlay video streaming, but if you don’t have an Apple TV to stream to, it does a great job with the Digital AV Adapter and iPad 2 HD mirroring.

Gordon Ramsay Cook With Me HD

If you have a TV in the kitchen, or even just one that you can view from the kitchen, then being able to view ingredient lists and cooking instructions on a large screen can really help make the whole process easier. That’s especially true if the app features instructional video, asGordon Ramsay’s Cook With Me HD does. Even if it doesn’t, viewing ingredients lists and cooking instruction on a large screen may be better for those that have a hard time reading small text.

Sketchbook Pro

I like to use the iPad as a canvas from time to time, in combination with a Pogo Sketch or other drawing stylus.Sketchbook Pro is a great app for that purpose on the iPad, and with HD mirroring, it becomes a much bigger drawing tablet — and one that I can use to show off my sketches in real-time as they happen. This comes in handy if you’re working on character design collaboratively with another artist, or if you just want to play Win, Lose or Draw at a party or with a group of friends. If you’re more interested in using the iPad connected to a display as a collaborative whiteboard tool, try Whiteboard Internet Collaboration, which also lets other users with any other iOS device and the app installed join in, too.

Screens or LogMeIn Ignition

Whatever your preference for remote desktop apps (Screensand LogMeIn Ignition are two good choices), when paired with an iPad 2 and HD mirroring, they become a way to quickly and easily recreate and access your home computer when you’re on the road, so long as you have access to an HDMI-equipped TV. It might not have the best performance, depending on your connection quality, but it should do the trick if you need to show a quick presentation using PowerPoint on your home computer or do some light work in, say, Photoshop. It’ll also make the experience much less frustrating since you won’t have to fudge around with a screen much smaller than your actual computer’s.

Maps

This may seem like an odd choice, but the built-in Maps app offers the ability to search for and then share directions to a specific location with a large group of people all at once, which comes in handy much more often than you might suspect. This is great if you’re planning a company outing to a trade show or conference, or just for giving your family directions to the park where you’re holding the annual picnic. Beats telling everyone to “just follow me.”

What is Your First Impression in iPad 2?

What is Your First Impression in iPad 2? - http://www.wholesaleeshop.com.au
Despite the plethora of Android tablets coming onto the market, Apple still maintains the lead. The iPad 2 is by far the most powerful tablet on the market for its price, and seems set to stay there for some time.
The body of the iPad is one-third thinner than the original and the size difference, combined with a slight reduction in weight, make the iPad 2 easier to hold. The flattened surface makes it feel as if it's just a slightly thick folder, making it easier to carry alongside other documents, or even by itself.
Yet the iPad 2 actually feels stronger than the original despite losing some of its bulk. The glass is more durable on this version, which makes the whole gadget feel quite a bit more solid.
Apple is starting to market the iPad as a content creation device, and not just a gadget for watching media and browsing the internet. The inclusion of the A5 chip is an obvious move in this direction, as it allows you to work much faster with apps that let you access remote desktops, manage and annotate documents and PDFs and create presentations and slideshows.
These apps open extremely quickly on the iPad 2. Accessing files within content management apps is extremely speedy. Testing with the LogMeIn remote desktop app over WiFi connections was painless, and much faster the original iPad.
Switching between those apps is also quick, meaning you can look up files in one program and open them in another without having to wait several seconds for them to load.
However, the iPad still has trouble with loading large spreadsheets.
Battery life is good – over 10 hours with heavy use.
But while the iPad 2 is a good business tool, it not yet a replacement for a laptop.
Apple is getting there, but typing for extended periods of time on the iPad is still a bit of a chore. If you need to get longer typing done you can sync with the wireless keyboard, but right now the iPad itself is more of a supplementary tool than a main computing device.
Apple added two new cameras into the iPad. They're useful for video conferences, but not much else. Don't expect to be shooting high-quality video or taking pictures while travelling – you'll be disappointed. The lenses will surely be upgraded in future versions, but for now, they're just for FaceTime calls.
The other main issue is the lack of ports. USB, SD card and HDMI connectivity can be achieved through add-ons, but they shouldn't have to be. Using the iPad is annoying without them. These features are becoming standard on other tablets and Apple should introduce them in the next update if they don't want to be left behind.
There are plenty of covers already available online, but the SmartCover is definitely worth a look if you want something casual to protect your iPad.
The only problem is that it's fairly expensive – $39 for a polyurethane and $79 for a leather case. For that price you can get different versions, including portfolio-style covers, from other manufacturers like Belkin and Griffin.
Overall, the iPad is a much better experience than the first. It's sleeker, faster and much more comfortable to hold.
But this still isn't a complete replacement for a laptop. If you're after a solid business tool, then the iPad 2 is a good choice – just don't expect it to become your sole computer quite yet.

How to upgrade your ipad 1 to ipad 2?

How to upgrade your ipad 1 to ipad 2? - www.wholesaleeshop.com.au

You already took a chance by adopting a new technology into your daily life when you purchased the first Apple iPad and you should be commended for your gusto. However there is a new and improved Apple iPad that has just been launched, the iPad 2.
The new Apple iPad 2 offers many new features, all of which improve on the amazing user experience that Apple offered in the iPad 1. Below are three new features included with iPad 2 and what they mean for you.
Dual core Apple A5 processor
Apple A5The new dual-core processor inside iPad 2 is very fast and according to new benchmark info provided by iOSnoops and Anandtech the Apple A5 offers a big jump in performance over the Apple A4 inside iPad 1. Benefits you get from having a dual core processor such as the one in the iPad 2 is more speed in doing simple things like launching and navigating through applications.
The Apple A5 like the Apple A4 offers the graphics all in the same chip design. The new graphics engine in the A5 in iPad 2 is the PowerVR SGX 543MP2 and it’s the most powerful graphics engine in a tablet at the moment going by benchmarks. The benefits from the new graphics engine are very much apparent when playing games like Real Racing 2 HD, in-game action happens a lot faster/smoother and graphics just look more realistic overall, when compared to iPad 1 and the A5′s graphics engine.
If you really liked playing games on iPad 1 then the bump in performance in iPad 2 will surely please you.
Thinner and lighter design
When Apple launched iPad 1 no other tablets available even came close to matching it’s slim and light design, but that design has been overhauled on iPad 2 and there have been some forward thinking improvements.
Apple iPad 2 ThinnerApple has trimmed down the thickness for iPad 2 to a mere 8.8mm and the weight has been scrubbed down to 1.3 lbs. The original iPad 1 was 13.4 mm thick and weighted an obese 1.5 lbs. Also adjusted was the rear design, previously Apple had the iPad 1′s back be rounded but on the new iPad 2 it’s back is more square. Early reviews report the new iPad 2 is much better to hold the the previous model.
Cameras are now available
One of the most asked for features for the follow-up to iPad 1 was cameras. Apple delivered dual cameras for iPad 2. There is a front facing VGA camera and a rear facing 720p HD camera. The tablet can now do video chatting and comes pre-loaded with Apple’s FaceTime video chatting application and Apple’s Photo Booth application for fun photo manipulation.
Now to be fair the cameras aren’t going to wow you with picture quality like a dedicated camera would but they are just good enough for video chatting with distant family and friends.
New Software Will Be The Real Positive For iPad 2
Apple iPad 2 garagebandNow those were three major new hardware features that are available to you on the new iPad 2. However the real reason to get iPad 2 is the new software/applications that are here now or coming soon for the tablet. The developer support is very strong for the iPad and by all indications it’s only going to get stronger thanks to the new hardware improvements available in iPad 2.
What To Do With Your Old iPad 1
Apple iPad resellingIf you have just been persuaded to pick up the new iPad 2 and you are thinking what will come of your current first generation iPad, have no fear. The first generation iPad still has value and there are still people out there willing to buy your used iPad 1.
You can sell your iPad 1 back to Apple for a gift card (given your iPad 1 is in good working condition). You can sell your iPad on eBay, Craigslist and other auction sites. Also there are some cool websites that buy’s willing to buy your old iPad, one is Gazelle and another isCashforiPads.
If you do resell you iPad just make sure you wipe of all your info. You can do that by doing the following; Go To Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
You can, if you don’t feel comfortable selling your iPad 1, just give it to a family member or friend as a gift for a birthday or holiday celebration.

Poll Suggests For Current iPad Owners

Poll Suggests For Current iPad Owners by

www.wholesaleeshop.com.au

Gizmocrunch reports that Apple’s decision not to take iPad 2 pre-orders may stem from the recent Verizon iPhone launch.  When pre-orders began for the Verizon iPhone, there were so many orders that it took both the Verizon and Apple online stores down within two hours. Verizon sold more iPhone 4s during its initial launch than any other phone in the carrier’s history, but that is not what the media reported.  The media focused on the fact that lines weren’t long at Verizon stores on the day of the Verizon iPhone launch, creating a false perception that the Verizon iPhone was not a success.  In reality lines were short at Verizon stores because most people pre-ordered online.
Apple does not want this to happen again.  Apple wants long lines for iPad 2.  Long lines for a major Apple product release feeds the Apple hype machine.  There is no better advertising for Apple than the free advertising they will receive on March 11 when all the major news networks report that people lined up for hours outside Apple stores to buy the iPad 2.  The iPad 2 goes on sale at 5PM, conveniently right before the 6PM nightly news and you can bet reporters will be there to cover it.
Cult of Mac reports that there are thousands of first generation iPads currently being sold on ebay and electronics buy back sites which is another a good indicator that lines will be long on Friday.  A quick search for “iPad” on ebay returns over 59,000 listings.  On March 11, many who owned the original iPad will upgrade to the newer model, while many others who didn’t get the first generation iPad will be buying their first iPad.
Do you think there will be long lines for the iPad 2 launch? Will you be in line on March 11 to buy iPad 2?  Let us know.
The iPad 2 still starts at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only version, so some tablet owners might have to sell their iPad in order to afford the next-generation device. About 14 percent, or 1,131 PCMag readers said they will go this route and sell the old iPad to afford the new one.
Not sure how to do that? PCMag has a guide on how to sell your first-gen iPad, and Target and Best Buy have said the iPad will be part of their buy back programs. We also have a slideshow listing Ten Ways to Dump Your Old iPad.
Some readers, however, are not ready to part with their iPad. About 18 percent, or 1,442, will be keeping their iPads and also purchasing an iPad 2. Like Lance, one reader said that his wife wanted his iPad so he had a "valid excuse to get the iPad 2."
Others, meanwhile, just weren't that impressed with the slimmer form factor, faster chip, and front- and rear-facing cameras. About 28 percent, or 2,173, said they would hold out for the iPad 3. Here at PCMag, we have already started thinking about that. Check out Apple iPad 3: What We Want.
About 34 percent also have no iPad plans. "I'm Doing Nothing" earned 2,629 votes.
Finally, about 8 percent, or 596 people, are sufficiently impressed with iPad competitors to trade their Apple tablet in for something like the Motorola Xoom or the Galaxy Tab. Some people in the comments rightly warned that the Xoom does not have Flash access at the moment, but not for long. Verizonannounced today that Adobe Flash Player 10.2 will be available on the Xoom on March 18.
