At this time Acer is competing with Samsung only when it comes to Chrome OS laptops. Samsung offers a 12.1-inch Series 5 Chromebook now in Wi-Fi and 3G models. If you can remember back one month, both the Acer AC700 and Samsung’s Series 5 were unveiled together at a Google sanctioned Chrome OS event.
The Acer and the Samsung both have minimalist designs but key specifications like battery life and display size do vary. Acer has priced their model a bit cheaper than the Samsung, there is an $80 difference when you compare Wi-Fi model to Wi-Fi model. However the $349.99 Acer AC700 detailed above has 6 hours of projected battery life, and an 11.6-inch screen that work against it when making a comparison between the equivalent Samsung Chromebook.
